The daughter of a decorator, at age four, I told my mother that "every room needs a touch of yellow." This was the beginning of my lifelong obsession with lovely interiors.
Two years ago, I traded in my desk job for blogging and a full time position herding three small children in the suburbs of my hometown, Washington, DC.
This is my design inspiration blog for Style Key West, my parents' beautiful home furnishings shop and design firm in (you guessed it!) Key West, FL. Every home has a personality, and the Style Key West philosophy is to embrace this through color, comfort and a bit of whimsy.
My personal philosophy is that it's okay not to love every trend as long as you give it a chance. Our style and design aesthetics are ever evolving, and after three years of pouring over design blogs, mine has expanded exponentially. Before dismissing something outright as "not me" I try to find at least one thing I admire about it. And this has truly opened my eyes. I'll be doing a lot of that here and I hope you'll join in.
